Robert E. “Bob” Tesch

President

Bob began his professional career in Houston, Texas in the 1970’s where, after college and receiving his license as a real estate broker, he joined a local real estate investment firm. For more than forty years Bob has developed commercial and investment real estate in the greater Houston, Austin and Dallas markets. In 1979 he formed his own firm currently known as Tesch Development & Management Company, LLC (TDM) a subsidiary of BTI Capital, LLC. In 1984 he moved his business from Houston to Austin, where he was appointed Exclusive Acquisition Agent for Texas by Summit Care Corporation, a publicly traded long term care company for whom he acquired over $120 million in nursing home and long-term care facilities statewide, while expanding his real estate business into land-use planning, entitlement and development. Bob has been heavily involved in Western Williamson County where he developed various commercial projects including Oakmont Business Park, Tower Center, Creekside Park. When acquired, Creekside Park was a 146-acre raw land site with no utilities. Today, as a mixed-use development all sites are sold and when completed the project will include 376 single family homes in three subdivisions including 32 single family detached condos, a church, nursing home and ten acres of local retail. Subsequently TDM developed Valley Vista Estates subdivision in Leander which, includes 380 single family homes and 21 acres of suburban retail, office and other business uses.

In 2017 he relocated TDM to the DFW Metroplex where TDM is developing multiple subdivisions and other commercial projects (see Projects).

Community Service

Bob’s community service is extensive. He has been called upon by the Williamson County Commissioners Court, the City Council of Cedar Park and Governor Rick Perry to serve in various community service leadership positions. In January 2003 Governor Perry commissioned him Presiding Officer of Texas’ first Regional Mobility Authority where he served three 2-year terms. (See “Proclamations Honoring Robert E. Tesch”) Under his leadership the Authority’s first turnpike project (US 183A) was completed on-time and under budget in March 2007. In 2009, after serving six years as Chairman, Governor Perry appointed him to a six-year term on the board of directors of the Brazos River Authority, which provides water to municipalities, agriculture and industry in seventy-two Texas Counties.

Bob’s public service has been recognized by numerous governmental entities and organizations. “He has served his county and region with the utmost integrity and established a legacy that will long outlive his term as Chairman” the Williamson County Judge Dan A Gattis said in a 2009 proclamation honoring him for his service. The Capital Area Transportation Coalition honored him with its distinguished Flying Tiger” award “for his leadership in addressing the region’s growing transportation crisis.” Other previous boards and memberships include the Real Estate Council of Austin, Austin Area Research Organization (AARO), Board of Visitors of Southwestern University and the Executive Board of the Capital Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
